Interior Design - Consultation - Project Management

Michelle Weaver

Working with me as a designer, and the collaboration and partnership required, it is important for me to share my passions, background, experience, style as well as a bit more about me personally.

First, my passion. My passion for design has led me down many roads and all the while I keep expanding and integrating everything I've learned to create a multi-faceted foundation for who I am today. My design style depends on its environment and the ultimate use of the space. I strongly believe in functional, environmentally conscious restrained opulence.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, I was inspired both by the beach and indoor / outdoor living. From a young age, I was exposed to traveling and learned to appreciate other cultures and what they have to offer, particularly in art, fashion, and design. Fluent in Spanish, this also adds to my cultural lens of having conversations with others in their own language. After graduating from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) with honors, my career blossomed as head designer for an international Brand. It was in this role, that I focused on all aspects from design to production throughout India and Hong Kong.

Another pivotal career role was as a miniature model maker working with a variety of highly skilled artists in the motion picture industry. I specialized in special effects for movies including the Batman, The Fifth element and Volcano. This experience inspired me to study 2D and 3D animation working with 3D Studio Max and Maya.

The next role, as a prop and fashion stylist for Conde Nast for over seven years, would integrate my learning from both industries. I embraced

working in New York with the most talented photographers and marketing teams to develop magazine and commercial shoots.

It was when I returned to LA to open my own lifestyle store that I further developed my skills as a designer and integrated my cultural awareness by selecting merchandise from trade shows and flea markets in Italy and France. By building out the 3500 sq ft store,Mercado, I developed deep relationships with clients and vendors that shared the same passion for design. I expanded my offering by working privately with my clients

designing their homes, and with vendors who hired me as there showroom designer and merchandiser. I further expanded nationally by designing, building and project managing trade shows nation wide from Las Vegas, Chicago, to The Javits Center in New York.

Clients who work with me will find that I am a highly adaptive project manager with proven capability of managing teams successfully and on deadline.

Projects

My projects and my clients are my passion in life.

Finding the perfect balance between how one truly lives and then enhancing it with the perfect environment. Enter textiles, shapes, comfort, warmth and a touch of nature to make a home feel like your own luxurious getaway. Every home, every space has its own individual personality. The key is to find it and marry the two.

Showroom design and build

National Trade show - Showroom Design Build, Merchandise, Brand Management

Multiple clients - Las Vegas World Market Center, Javitz Center, Dallas Market center, and LA Mart. Worked directly with the head of various showrooms and there clients to develop a cohesive plan to combine and market merchants under one showroom.

The space and the booths were designed to combine brands with a represented showroom as an overall buying experience.

Each showroom was carefully designed to enhance the merchandise as well as bring the merchants together as a whole effectively raising sales by over 50% for each market term.

Laguna Beach A Frame 3D Designs and Interior

Conceptual design and remodel for this Laguna Beach A-Frame

2 Year project to open and expand historic A frame. I designed this plan

to expand the square footage by offering an ADU unit above the existing garage and connecting the main to the ADU by expanding the interior of the house and bringing the interior directly out to the exterior then connecting the three parts.

We kept the open flow with simple Soap stone and Ash wood framing and furniture which I designed and helped build with my crew.
